Dyno Testing Completed

Last week my race car finally got a chassis dyno test done to see what jetting and timming are and should be. After all was adjusted, there was 160 HP and 180 ftlbs of torque at the rear wheels, with the muffer on. The torque peaked at 3200 and stayed nearly flat utill 5000 or so. so to see how the torque really worked, this past weekend at the HSR West race at Willow Springs I used the short geared tranny and only had to shift once going up the hill and then back down. I could roll into the throttle fully before an apex and keep up with most of the 911-6 cars well and even passed some! Torque is nice.

coolness! 180? That's almost enough to move a 200lb man! I need to go on a diet

Good deal.

It's my mostly stock big four.....Fours seem to have the edge in the torque dept as a comparible size 6 makes the power but has to rev a lot higher. I was watching the video of the race and I chuckle at how much the six drivers had to shift and I only did once a lap.

I live for that feeling between the mid-range of second, and the high-end of third.

John,

Hmmm..., 160 hp and 180 ft-lb of torque from a "mostly stock big four"? Mostly stock? Could you describe your engine?

Mike
