With that engine - Wouldn't it just suck U into the trunk? I'd hate to have that problem. he he he... Better give it to me. But on a side note; has there been structural considerations - prior to cutting a hole?

Lee, a thought just occured to me, isnt it very loud in the Passangers compartment? a there is a Big opening from the 6' engine to the cabin? I think that putting a piece of aluminum over that hole with bolts (?) holding it in is a smart thing douglas. Looks good both of you.

The "Bat-door" into the engine compartment is a very interesting idea......and one that reduces the amount of time a guy spends with the rump facing the sky and legs knifed into the air like a Praying Mantis.......but one phrase has me concerned: "Cut a hole in the FIRE wall"

"Is it getting warm in here or is it just me???"

By the way......I have tons of even better pictures in the screensaver...............

Yup. As I once said to Michel Richard, "Think about the name of that panel. Firewall."

I suggest getting that metal panel in there ASAFP. A little sound-deadening stuff on the inside of it probably wouldn't hurt, either...

Yeah - it's loud... but sweet, sweet music to my ears!
Actually it's not that bad with the cushion velcro'd on. If you heard my exhaust, you would know it's just as loud with the windows down and top off. The 3.0L runs smooth as a kitten (when warm) and very little noise, other than road noise, is noticable.

OK, OK - I know what a firewall is for! :p (hee hee)
I have decided to go with aluminum (cost and ease) and am shopping around for some kind of dzus fasteners this spring. Should have stated 'save the safety speeches' in my post (grin)!

Right now - got about 4 feet of snow outside, so I'm going nowhere!

I found having the car on ramps, chock both front tires and jacking the drivers wheel up just high enough to get a jack stand under it does the trick for adjusting the valves. It's high for working on, easy to spin the tire with your foot for the right side valves whilst under the car... no problem-o:)

How about this removable panel?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...h firewall.jpg

To hold the rear wheel durring a valve adjustment, I just use a rope to tie one spoke to the strut. That wood cross lookd likje the frame that I bolt to my jack pad when I remove the engine

I sure hope you guys keep a bag of marshmellows in the glove compartment.......would be a shame to waste a perfectly good opportunity for a s'more party..........
