rear alignment work

Hi all

Two questions.

To put the alignment shims under the rear consol
I back out two of the bolts and remove the captive bolt. I basically get it. Will the wheel and swing arm just dangle from the shock or do I have to come up with support for the wheel, axle and swing arm while working on the shims?

I remember one of you stating (man the depth of the groups' knowledge is awesome) that each MM of shim should change camber by a certain degree amount. I plan to measure camber grossly and try to bring the rear into approximation of correct before I go to the alignment shop.( That way I know the bolts won't snap off and that I have enough shims) So I can't find that post. Degrees per mm shim anyone?

Thanks Mark
