found a pair of heat exchangers I dont recognize. thinking they might be for a 914-6 due to how long they are. any help is appreciated.

They are from a 75-76 914 four-cylinder. IMHO worthwhile only for originality or for those cars that face periodic emissions checks.

No, the cat was in a short tube in line with the muffler across the back. There was also a dummy tube for non-cat version.
There were also tubes off the heads that took the exhaust forward to connect to the heat exchangers.
