Bypass anti flashback valve

I don’t have a 914 anti flashback valve for my 2.0l can you just bypass it and tie the hoses together with a connector that seems unsafe but at least would work temporarily

Or is there some other solution

You can, but the flashback valve is the easiest way to tie the hoses together. It is just a Tee with a metal screen in it that acts as a flame arrestor in case there is a backfire trying to propagate up the lines.
