correct tire pressure

what is the popular consensus on tire pressure (lbs) for "normal" driving on 195/65/15 tires on the street?

I used to always run around 30 PSI in each tire. However this is something that varies from tire to tire.

Stock spec is 26 PSI front, 29 PSI rear.

I run 32 PSI all around, or sometimes pump up to 36 PSI for autoX on street tires. It definitely makes the ride firmer!

30 seems to be a good compromise between the response of the car and still being able to keep your kidneys.

And also, do you think it matters if it is a 50 or 60 series for AX?

For autoX, the shorter the better. I have run 195/50-15. Short-short-short sidewalls, which is good for gearing and handling and responsiveness, and makes for kind of a sucky daily driver. High freeway RPMs and a harsh ride...

I'll probably go 205/50-15 when I get separate race tires; that is the "default" size for 914s in PCA Zone 7 at the moment.

I'm already there with the 205's.
Got a good deal on Nittos and they seem to be fairly sticky. With the new motor mounts in I'll be ready for the May 4th AX. Now I just need to get that Orange helmet!!!
