odometer

Advise needed, want my odeometer fixed should I try to fix it along the lines of the instructions on Pelican with crimping the pot metal gear or should I buy a new part to put in ?

That's a question only you can answer.

I fixed the gear in mine; other folks have done that also. But there are a good number of people who have simply replaced the gauge. Up to you to decide on what you want to do.

odometer pics up close pot metal gear

Hello, see the pot metal gear has the little notch in it? What is that for, I can't see where it fits in to anything.

I would send it to palo alto the authorized vdo rebuilder, takes a special tool to remove the bezel and replace it properly

That's because the advance gear is installed backwards. Read the article and study the pictures.
