Question questions for paintwork

Currently stripping the trim off my '74 for bead blasting (3 layers of paint!) and Speed Yellow BC/CC. Some questions:
-the car is painted black under the bumpers right now; was that normal practice from the factory?
-if the '74 bumperettes are removed and the holes covered with plastic plugs, will it look like an earlier car, or were there other changes from 73 to 74?
-has anyone changed their bright trim to black (pics please)
-I am going to get some new door panel material, and recently saw a post about it. How do you go about forming the radius at the top of the door without breaking the fiberboard?
-anyone paint their trunks another color (like grey speckle trunk finish, etc)? pics would help here, too
-were the cars wired for two horns from the factory? Mine only had one horn, on the left side, but seems to have a spare set of wiring over on the right.
Thanks. Will

3 layers isn't much... on the front and rear trunk lids I had 8.... but I took everything off except the original color.

The 73 rear bumper did not have holes at all. The 73 did have "bumper tits" on the front, though. Earlier cars did not have them front or rear, and the bumpers did not have plugs where they would have bolted on. (1970-mid-71 cars had slightly different rear bumpers, too, but that's getting very picky.)

Generally, the 73+ cars were wired for two horns and for the center console. Check for extra wires of the right colors.

All bright work except quarter window post on doors and mirrors are flat black. Rockers and valances are body color.
Bumpers all the same, with or without holes,
except early rear as Dave says.
Color behind the bumpers same as body from factory. Your car was either black when new or was repainted black with the bumpers off (proper way to repaint).

Thanks to all for the info! About about the color behind the bumpers, mine was Olympic blue to start, and you can see the blue underneath the flaking flat black that is behind the bumpers. I think someone must have thought to paint it black so there wouldn't be any color peeking out from behind, but I'm happier to hear that it should be bodycolor, as that eliminates the masking, etc. I think the flat black trim might go over well with the yellow car and black bumpers, and it will eliminate having to polish a lot of worn brightwork.
