Describe the run on problem....do you mean it runs on after you switch off power?

Yes, power is bleeding back into the system via alternator idiot light wire. I know i may need to solder a diode in the line, I have a ceramic chrysler diode but its been so long since it was hooked up i need a little help sorting it all out.

I had the same run-on issue when I installed an Electromotive HPX unit. I placed the diode in-line between the voltage regulator and the charging light. Problem fixed and have not had any issues since. I think page 7 of the MSD installation manual details the diode installation, online version of manual is at http://www.msdignition.com/
I have the multi-pole kill switch connected to the ignition's main power supply wire. |
