914 Ignition Distributer model identification

Could any of you identify which shock ignition coil /Distributer is installed on my 914 1.7 liter. Unfortunately there isn't any model number or name on it. Since I am planning to exchange the contact breaker point, I would need a reference to make the right match. Does it look like a Bosch model?

I have only identified an engraved 20H on the side, which might not tell a lot:::

The 1.7 had a 0231 174 007 Bosch. The number will be close to the condenser on the side. The ignition points were all the same for all years. The Bosch blue coil is the best in my opinion. Points part number is 311-998-063 for all years 70-76

Thanks a lot Jess. I might first only try to change the ignition point. Which 914 do you have?

I don't see the trigger points connector down at the base of the distributor body, but it's possible that it's hidden behind the rest of the body.

Without that connector, it is not a distributor that will operate the D-jetronic fuel injection, and therefore it is not a stock 1.7 or 2.0 distributor.

All stock 914 distributors also had vacuum advance/retard, which this one obviously does not have. So it's not a 1.8 distributor either. So we know that it's not any kind of stock 914 distributor.

Apart from that, I can't really tell anything from this angle.

I have a 70 and a 71, I use the 009 distributors. I thought the same as what Dave mentioned as to not seeing the advance and not knowing if there are trigger points at the base. The ignition points were the same for all years and are sold by our host. Just a quick mention that whenever I change my points I always put in a new condenser.

Actually my 914 got converted into double weber carburettor. Unfortunately slightly too big. I bought the car 6 years ago in France without having any real knowledge. My father has 912 so he could give some advice along the road.
My condenser has been renewed just recently.

Engine turns on pretty easily, but pushing the the pedal up to 2000 revs the engine seems to die. My dad assume it could be the breakpoints which seems not aligned well.
Could it be the right conclusion?

Get yourself a dwell meter and check the dwell of the points. Dwell should be 44-50 degrees, or 49%-55%. Point gap should be about 0.4mm.

Note that changing your dwell angle will change your ignition timing as well, so you will have to re-check that if you change the dwell!
