I've seen a lot of posts about POR 15.

What exactly is POR 15 & what is it used for. And, where do you get it.

I have a small amount of rust around the battery tray & I was hoping that this may solve my problem. I don't think the rust is bad enough to need replacing the entire tray (yet).

It is a very tough epoxy-based paint. POR is supposed to stand for "Paint Over Rust", though that is a bit of a misnomer. To really stop the rust, you generally need to use something like "Metal Ready" or Ospho or Naval Jelly. Then you can paint over that with the POR or similar paint to keep the water and acid out.
