Sick feeling

Just called to get my bill (fluids and valve adjust)

Bill had a note on it.

I am 200 miles under 5k, and I have to break the motor down to find the knocking that WASN'T the fan.. maybe cam... who cares?

Anyone want to buy a cheap assed $5,500.00 2.0 motor with 4800 miles on it?

F GD SOB MFR

I'm pissed off as hell, and I guess you can't trust an engine any farther than you can throw the piece of crap, no matter who builds it.

I haven't a clue, I am sure glad I didn't got with the 2.7, tell you that much.

Just got back to the ranch.

"Drive it til it breaks."

Either the cam gear is about to come off, or it's the cam bearings, I guess you just have to hope for the best when you plop out your money.

I am scared of rebuilt motors now, tell you that much. ...trying to smile..

@ what RPM do you think it comes apart? Maybe I'll paint it orange now..

heh

My mechanic said it won't break anything that isn't already broken. This is what everyone thought was a noisy fan, it was terminal from day 1.

Do I think bad things happen to good people? Yes.

I'd say who built this motor, but I'd worry that someone would take that wrong, and mess up a great reputation.... how can we know it's not just a bad bearing in a good batch?

I haven't changed my mind about that person, I still like them, and I'd buy another motor from them.

Life sucks sometimes, you just hope people do their best, and everything goes well.. it sucks being me, but just today.

Thanks folks, looks like the /6 is *shockingly* closer than I thought... damnit.

Why do good things happen to bad people? Thats what I want to know. Is there any help offered by the part manufacturer, of the mechanic that built your engine?

Just be thankful that the universe is basically random, the Kharma doesn't really exist and that you don't really get what you deserve.

It wouldn't be pretty....

Lost my mind completely

Kharma couldn't have anything to do with it, they just made the bodies, this is obviously an engine problem.

Builder contacted:

(paraphrased)

"Pack up the motor, send it to me! Let's hurry up and get a good one back in there, Sparky!"

(repeated expletives deleted)

I am betting on a bad bearing. Bad things do happen to good people, and me.

Loved your "Kharma" response. Good you still have a sense of humor. Be sure its not your alternator. I'd suspect that long before the fan. I had a bad alternator bearing and it sounded like the engine was ready to explode. Only takes a few minutes to remove the belt and see if the noise goes away.

Hendrix sorry to hear about your misfortune. Any chance on having the person who worked on it correct the problem? I know I would be hounding him. Good luck and hope it all works out for you.
