Rebuilding Brake Calipers
I'm rebuilding my brake calipers. Actually, I rebuilding a set of BMW 320i calipers for my 914.
The donor calipers were in very good working order & came off my own car. As I was cleaning them up & preparing to rebuild (or refurbish) I noticed very light surface rust in the cylinders & light rust on the pistons - No gouges or burs. What is the best way to clean this up without damaging the cylinders. I was thinking very fine steel wool or emery paper but I thought I would ask the experts first. Thanks.........................Vern |

I think that scotch brite would be less invasive/destructive. Maybe somone will second it.
