Fuel Lines - 7mm & 9mm - Why?
This is really a question to satisfy my curiosity.
What was Porsche's engineering reason for the two different size fuel lines running through the tunnel? Also, I recently relocated my fuel pump to the front & I stole all of the components from a 76 doner car (i.e., wiring, fuel pump). I didn't notice if the fuel lines were different sizes on the '76 car. I'm wondering how the factory configured the lines in the back of the car for the '75 & '76 cars. Did the plastic lines run through the tunnel all the way to the engine compartment or did they connect with fuel line where the old fuel pumps were located? Now then, I promise - this is my last post for today! Thanks...............................Vern |

They run all the way from the front to the engine compartment. One is high pressure supply the other is the return line . I don't remember them as being to sizes....The supply from the tank to the filter is way bigger and then is smaller to the pump.

The 75+ 1.8s and 2.0s used the same fuel hose routing, at least until you get to the top of the engine.
