				tail vs side

Does anyone know if you can convert a tail shift transaxle to a side shift. It's looks possible. Can someone shed some light on this for me? The reason I'm asking is I'm getting ready to cut the bellhousing on the tranaxle case for my 928 conversion. I'm going to cut on a tailshift case first before cutting my side shift. after the case is cut down I would entertain the idea of converting it to a side shift for a spare.

It can be done, but the internal shift forks and other parts need to be swapped out...I know a guy in San Luis Obispo that did one recently. You van get ahold of him by posting a request on the Renegade site.

Hey Rich! Why do you have to cut the tranny? Where are you at with the 928 V8 project? Why don't you give us an update eh? -Brent | ||

I had both a side shift and a tail shift apart at the same time. I think the basic case is the same, the difference is in the shift cover (with the "ear" mounts) and the shift rods plus the little dohicky (this is a highly technical term in Southern German vernacular) that supports the shift rods.

Rich .... you have to go see Brad at ALL914.com... he has the Vellious stuff for as cheap as your gonna find it anywhere. If your gonna just try and "make it work" you may just end up with "making more headache" for yourself.... Let me know how it comes out.
