Put some white dashes down the center of the black and it would look like a fork in the road. Maybe it was painted by Victor and he wanted everyone to know it.

"Dazzle" camouflage! Brilliant! It should confuse the eyes/radar guns of the highway patrol.

I was going to ask why also, but I did not want to offend anyone.

Since I started it, I'll sheepishly apologize. Sorry Clean car though, do you have more pics of it?

It's only paint. What I see if I look past the black accents is a straight early 914 that looks pretty nice. I assume it runs, if so you are way ahead of many here.
Any more details? I hope that isn't the 914 with all the longitudinal rust, that would be a shame. Is that the car with the bus motor?

I've only seen one or two 914s that I considered perfect, most are projects and almost all need some kind if work.
If that is the car with the rust, the paint job is a minor issue.

Hope we didn't scare KATKW away. Sammy has a good point, I'm guilty of having 2 cars, both in the garage, one no run, the other sorta runs.

Here's a couple more views. It is the one with the bus engine, and the rust on the long. I bought it with the paint job as a pre-existing condition. Not real sure what the previous owner was thinking. It's going to a recomended Porsche expert this weekend for him to give it a once-over. Hopefully, the rust is not terminal because it actually runs pretty well.

Good luck and please don't let a little kidding bother you, I don't think anyone here is trying to be rude, just having some fun at your (cars) expense. Like I said, paint is easy. I've seen 914s that were so ratty it was a wonder they stayed together and they still looked wonderful to me.

I've also seen some of these ratty 914s turn into very clean nice examples in a relatively short time. All it really takes is time and money.
The last two 914s I drug home didn't even run!

The rust scares me but I'm not much of a welder.

No offense taken...that's why I posted the pictures! I knew you would all get a kick out of it. The pictures don't do the paint job justice, there's even a little sparkle thrown in! Assuming the car in reasonable shape, it has a new paint job in it's future. I'm thinking about red with white Shelby stripes. What's general opinion on the stripes? I know they're a big hit w/ the Miata crowd, but I haven't seen any on 914s.
