New 1/18th 914 from Revell

I just heard about this and thought i'd share. In January, Revell is putting out a new 1/18th scale die-cast model of the 914 in either yellow or blue. Thats all I know for now, but there are some model houses where you can preorder them.

Go to http://www.revell.de/en/index.html and search for Porsche 914 under Products --> Metal. I ordered mine a few weeks ago and from the pictures I've seen it should be a very detailed model.

There's evidently a group buy or something similar going on over at the 914club.com BBS. I haven't had time to check in on it, but it might be worth a look.

I'm really wondering what detail it has, if it's Exoto level quality I'll gladly pay a lot for it. I sure hope its not like the 1/24th scale plastic kit. The tires on that thing were the worst design.

Who are you ordering this from? Any US distributors getting it?

Pelican selling it would be cool....

Cool! I think that's the most realistic 914 model I've seen.

bump to find out where ppl are ordering this from.

I knew it was coming out last spring; a guy I know does model design work and knows the people at Revell Germany who do the car stuff. Now that it's out I have not been able to find it for sale in the internet.

If you can't find it anywhere else, you can order it here (email them). Shipping to you in the States would be $11.50 CAD or about $9.00 USD.

Does your local hobby shop guy want to get one for me - I can't seem to find a Canadian shop able to pre-order.

If your local guy doesn't mind maybe I could give him a call.

Thanks
