Seat options and interior thoughts

Has anyone tried seats from any other cars. I want a beige or black interior. Mine is Brown, but not too bad. I just don't care for it. I thought Miata seats might be a close fit, but I can't lose any head room. I would probably not use the back pad? I used to have a Miata and they sit on rails a little off the floor. The 914 seats look a

On those lines, I have stripped the old carpet and wanted to completely strip and treat the floor pans. I have seen people Rhino line the interior of Jeeps and trucks. Would this be a good sound/ rust prevention idea? Am I rugged and manly enough to drive around with no carpet?

Maybe
1-strip/ wire wheel
2-POR 15 or rust prevention
3-Rhino type liner

After I repaired my floorpan, I used some por-15. It works awesome. It gets stronger with moisture! It dries (cures) rock hard too.

To strip the floor of the tar, use dry ice and wait for it to shrink the tar then hit the floor a little hard, then use a chizzle and a putty nife. Or do what I did and get a heat gun (hairdryer works) and keep the tar nice and hot, not cold, not gummy, just find what works for you. Then take brake cleaner and you can take the glue off with that. The rest is rust fix if you have any. Then prep and Por 15, then buy a carpet kit or use your old carpet and your set.

Seats? dont know.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I still think Miata seats may be a close fit.

Also this car was restored in the mid 90's and there isn't any tar, just glue and dirt. and a little surface rust. The old original paint under there really just looks like overspray.

I'd be interested to hear about the Miata seats. So far, I haven't seen any other seats that do not rob you of headroom, and usually fore-and-aft seat travel as well.

The Corbeaus only lose you a litttle bit of headroom, but unless you remove the backpad you will lose several inches of seat travel. Not an issue for some, but it is for others!

BTW...Por-15 should only be used over rusty metal, as in brown surface rust. it will not prevent rust.

My brother did the bed line stuff on teh interior of a pickup....yeeha.
