If it has a crest on the hood, I think it should be a six. My four is clean-browed, and I like that look better. I don't think the 914 wears the crest as well as a 911 (even the 916 six), maybe because of the width of the hood... And I do have little crest decals on the center caps of my wheels. I'm partial to silver lettering. I think the inverted side decal looks cool. I kinda enjoy Porsche's half-endorsement of the 914, and when you put too much p-stuff, it implies that the car is all, y'know, "german excellence". Its much more clever than that. "minimalist excellence"- which is even more...german. From an appearance perspective, I think the stripes are more appealing than the crest.

Silver cars, with gold emblems, and 5 lug steel wheels.

Gold emblem on hood, with positive stipes on the side. Never liked the rear deck stripe.

The factory never put a badge on the car. I like it that way--but both of my 914s came with the badge on them. Too much work to remove the badge, fill the holes, and try to make the faded paint match where the badge was.
My current car has a right-side door that used to have a negative PORSCHE stripe on it. I haven't found evidence of the stripe anywhere else, though, so it is very likely a replacement door. --DD

Shorty-
You should put up a gallery- or at least post a pic for me one more time. Navy looks great I'm Sure. I think I would like the Black- reverse. I'm guessing it has black top... |

OK-
I remember- did'ja put the Mahles on yit? Looking at the picture- with the navy, a white, regular, non-reverse would look good.... Man, that was some major rust repair effort! |

I know you guys have seen me post before about it but is there any place online to get it? or will i have to wait .... I'd hate to result in using crappy silver paint from a auto parts store
SGB that was some major rust repair effort???? what? so far i got black reverse and normal white hmmmm

I like the crest on the hood and on wheel center caps. I have seen the crest tastefully placed near the 914 emblem on the rear panel.

Dood, strip the Mahles with oven cleaner, and just keep them etched until you find what you want to paint them with.
Speaking of wheels, I may have a set of (4) 2.0 Fuchs (maybe red by then) coming up for sale. Sorry to thread jack... no I am not.. Oh yeah, Eddie, you could make that thing sweet! Take those 911ish flares off, and PM me.. ![]() M
