Installing New Heads

I was wondering, do you have to drop the engine to replace the heads of can it be done with the engine still in the car (or lowered slightly)

Thanks..................................Vern

I don't think that you can remove the heads with the engine in the car and even if you could, it would probably be easier just to drop the engine and do it.

Vern,
I tried last year to do that, theres not enough room to clear the eight retaining studs. Another bad design, you would only need about 1 more inch to remove the heads. Drop the engine, it's not to hard, I would remove the tin to clean all the junk that gets caught under it.. Good luck.
