Question 2.0 plug wires

Does anyone have the bosch part nuber for the plug wires they used instead of the 09171 number that does not fit?
I have heard superbeetle or type 3 with fi work. For these I get 9001 and 9004 part numbers. Can anyone tell me which? TIA

I just recieved a set from our host and the driver side plug wires were too short. I have e-mailed them about this but haven't heard back yet.

I ended up routing the wires under the air cleaner to get to the plug. It is tight but works. I would what to keep it this way for too long but it keeps me on the road.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you but your not alone

Cheers
Kerry

Hey Doods
How about taking the ends from a 2.0 kit, removing them, and using say, 8mm Accel or MSD or "whatever" as replacements in between- you could get those universal sets, hack 'em to size, and BAM! - cool new wires in any length you want. Would this work?

The "other" board is recommending the Beru set for a 912. Evidently those fit better. I have a Beru set on my 2.0, and while it's a bit tight it does reach.

This seems like a common problem. I am looking into a set that napa sells. Made by belden. I can not get anybody here to order the beru set to find out if they are the short or long set. When I did a search here I came up with the other sets as options but no one has listed a part number. If I find a set I will post here and the other board. Does PP sell a set that fit the 2.0?

PP sells magna-core wires for the 2.0 that fit mine just fine with some slack left over.

Just last night I replaced my VERY tight fitting Bosch ones with the 912 Beru ones. I have a good two inches of play with the wires connected and in their holders! Also the quality is far superior than the Bosh ones.

I buy mine from VW Parts Unlimited for a bug and they fit perfect. You dont need but 2 long connectors and 2 short connectors. The ones they sell for the 914 have all long connectors and they often dont fit. These work great. Hope this helps.
