stunning 914-4 with lots of pics on ebay
Hi Folks
Dont know if this was covered here or not but here is one ofthe most beautiful 914's I have ever seen; at least in my opinion. (hope I do this URL paste correctly, have not tried this feature before) I love that blue color. So.. is that an original 914 color? Also note the wheelwell/flares. Seller says they are original, but I have never seen any like that and my '73 does not look like that. Also, see what really nice bumpers do for the 914, especially look at the rear one on this car. Pristine! Can anyone turn a decent bumper with a few waves and dings into some thing that looks like that? Had to share this one! Curt Lompoc, Ca ![]() |

Hi
Wish I knew, but its not my car. I have silver '73 2.0 and thats enough of a handful for me. I thought silver was my favorite color until I saw that one. Signal Orange is nice too. Regards Curt |

Hmmn, I don't much care for the flares or the interior wood trim or the wheels. I guess everyone has their own tastes.

I'm always suspicious of an "owner" who has to be told what their engine displacement is by potential buyers.

That was not a standard 914 color. It looks somewhat like a later 911 color; I've seen several 964s (Carrera 2/Carrera 4) in that color. Perhaps "Iris Blue"?

Very suspicious...the guy claims it's a 2.0, but if you look closely at the engine compartment, you see what appears to be a 1.7 air cleaner...
Those flares were never original, though, nicely done. The interior console was only used up to '72, I think... Mike

Look further down the ad. There is a disclaimer further down stating that it is indeed a 1.7 engine, not a 2.0 one.

The car is really purty. If I just had to have wider tires I think the flares are done fairly well. I'm not keen on the dash, but it is not guady. It will be interesting to see if it sells. Don't know what the reserve is though, and I can't imagine it will get that much higher (its over 5k now).

Aren't there supposed to be "bumperettes" on the rear bumper if they are on the front? Somebody replace a bumper? Something get hit?

Ever notice how cool car people are until someone thinks their car is "all that." Years ago an obnoxious British car person (know owns a magazine with similar name) put his car in a show, what fun "taking it apart!"

A 914/4 stunner that sold on eBay
How about this one?
Can't get much nicer than that. I believe he was looking to sell it for $18,000; wonder if he got it? Last time I checked it was over $12K. I just noticed it was listed with no reserve; I hate it when people pull their no reserve items! Last edited by TomTurtle; 03-23-2004 at 05:40 PM.. |

It's a pretty car but the flares are a little "funny" with those skinny-a$$ tires ?!?!?
You can fill the bumper tit holes with chrome carriage bolts if the bumper is reasonably straight. Usually when you pull off the tits there is some discoloration and rippling in the metal underneath, in my limited experience.
