Do the original 2.0L sixes sound as good as the bigger flat-sixes?
Porsche's flat-six has to be one of the sweetest sounding motors (my neighbor took his 911 targa out for a drive this morning) ... one day I would like an original 914-6.

Agreed. The sound of those six thirsty Weber throats simply adds to the wonderful cacophany going on behind your right elbow...
![]() The carb'ed and MFI'd Sixes sound the best, IMHO. And that includes the "wimpy" stock Six motor. --DD

Yup, the really neat sounds don't come just from the exhaust, they come from either the 6 carburetor barrels or the 6 throttle bodies.
The best automotive sound I have ever heard came from a 1972 911T with a bursh muffler on it. |
