Hmm... Well, I don't usually stick things more than a month in advance... But since this is supposed to be a very large event, with attendees from all over, I suppose it's appropriate to give people more notice.

I sure hope to see you there! I'm very interested in seeing that car run...

BTW, may I suggest updating the website with your newer pictures? I realize that there's at least one 914club BBS thread about your more recent progress, but it'd be nice to be able to point someone to a website rather than a forum.

Thanks, I'm trying to get the kids to make a new site for me. I don't have a clue when it comes to these things..... I'm lucky to be able to type.

WCC

I am going to make it to the WCC this year. My LE will probably have to be towed there because all my motors blow up. Ask Redshift on the other 914 board about all my junk motors. Anybody see a Bumble Bee along side the road going to the WCC going from LA to SJ, please call for roadside assistance for me.

Well you read all kinds of things on the internet. Sometimes the truth and sometimes rants. I'm into cars not the airing of dirty laundry. Great news about the LE. That's what I'm talking about!

Buying a car at WCC

Are there usually cars for sale at the WCC? I will be bringing about $3000-$3500 in the hopes that i can buy a runner.

Luke this is the first WCC, so there is no way of knowing! I suspect there will be a car or two with For Sale signs on them, but we have no way of knowing until the event. Plan to attend anyway, with or without a 914. There will be alot of 914s to see and lots to learn. This will be the place to meet other 914 owners and see a wide range of 914s, from the best, to the...well every 914 is great in some way...

Ok...so I'm reading this thread.. The wife sees that it's about a 914 car show... Her quote...verbatim...

"Oh we have to put that on the calendar. I want to see one that's running."

Ouch

I'd love to be able to make this, but I'll be running my first marathon down here in San Diego (San Diego Rock N' Roll Marathon - June 6). Maybe next year...

So Rich, fill me in on the 918... I'm assuming that Porsche used this designation for something, was it the two 8 cylinders they produced?

Nope. The two eight-cylinder cars were called "914 S"; I've seen a copy of the "owner's manual" that they gave to Ferry when they gave him the car, and it referred to the car as the 914 S.

Ironically, that was what the US distributor first called the 2-liter four-cylinder cars when they first debuted.

AFAIK, "918" was not used as a designation for any Porsche car.

Wow, it's over. What a fun weekend!! I'm completely exhausted, and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Thanks to Jeff and all the others who worked so hard to put on this weekend!
