Try your local Ace Hardware. They have a kit with all sizes of rollpins.

Get the expensive multi-layered one. I believe we can supply you with a stock one--I forget the part number but it's in the Porsche parts book.

The commonly-available roll pins are not strong enough. You need one that has several "wraps" at least.

mikey,

if you get the rebuild kit from our host it will have one in it, but read this .the pin in the kit is a "spiral pin" or i've heard them called a triple rolled, roll pin, this is what you want. i rebuilt mine with the kit about a year or so ago and have had no problems.

The pin that comes in the bronze bushing kit is, umm... apparently under-engineered for the job. It's the standard one-layer pin, and I feel it should not be used. The stock part is much beefier, and is of the multiple-layer type. Sorry I wasn't more clear about that.

Well......see, I was given the bronze bushing kit from a friend, but I don't have the roll pin. So Dave....can I buy one from Pelican, and if so, how much is it??

Yes, you can get the stock pin. I don't know how much it is; I'm not tied into the sales end of the house. Jason or John (chibone_914) would be able to help you on that--email them or just call 888-280-7799 during working hours.

My 914 parts catalog has a different p/n for the roll pin 999.095.003.00

Is the 900.309.002.00 the 911 p/n? (basically the same part?)

Yeah, I was going to say that the correct pin is under a buck. I think it is the same pin used in the tranny. It is best to used the proper one. I used an understrenth one, once...(pointing finger) ONCE!
