71 Side Window Pics Needed
I'm baaaaaaack!
Just got a 71 last night from a car restoration class. Mostly disassembled, but rust is only in the longitudinals and the rest is clean. New paint (I give it a 6 on the 1-10 scale). Will put my 2.0 Injected engine in. They took out the side windows and threw the parts into cans. I need some assembly pictures for this one. I think I need the little rollers for the window too. Anyone - I need pictures of how this goes together. Thanks. Joe C. |

I don't have any photos but maybe this will help. Here are the factory exploded view parts diagrams.

In that link, you want to look at "8-6 Door and Window Glass". The next image is for the later window mechanism.
Another pic can be found at: http://www.pelicanparts.com/914/Parts/Body/door_window_crank_big.htm That one is also available in Haynes. (You really ought to have a Haynes manual, BTW. Best <$20 you can spend on the car IMHO!) --DD

I have both Hayes and Clymer manuals. But I need to see how this is really assembled. The pictures are helpful, but I need a photo of how the glass attaches to the mechanism.
Thankis again. Joe C. |
