This is the picture that made me decide to buy a 914
The picture on the top right. It was in a book on 911s that my brother had. The car looked liked a "real European" sports car and prompted me to search the classifieds for one. The car was green in that book but is in black and white in this pic from the "Das Grosse VW-Porsche Buch".

Interesting...the piller aroune the windshield is painted (or vinyl'd) black. I think it looks good that way

It's vinyl. It was a rare option on some of the early cars.

The bottom edge was unfinished, which was kinda cheesy. Especially after the vinyl started curling up, which it tends to do after a couple of decades....
