Other cars with same front struts?

Does anyone know if other cars share the same front struts as a 914? Low budget junkyard dog. (Pete) Thanks

VW 411 and 412. Good luck in finding those in junkyards... Make sure you get the ones with the same sort of ball-joint retaining method as your current ones--the later ones use a wedge pin, the earlier ones a straight pin or bolt.

The 911 struts do bolt in, but you have to go with the 911 brakes and the five-lug wheels in the front. Five-lug front and four-lug rear looks really cheesy....

Are you sure Dave ? would'nt a 914 front hub, with the 4 bolt pattern fit onto a 911 front strut ?

nope, different size wheel bearings..the 911 strut uses bigger bearings than the 914 hubs

Nope. The struts are, I believe, not interchangeable with 911 or 914.

Pete,

I have some front struts/dischubs/calipers collecting dust in my garage. If you are shopping for some... send me a note.

I fished some gabriels out of a 911, they were leaking bad, but they looked like they fit. I wish I knew how they performed before they suffered shuch a horrible death. I use KB. Cheap and good enough.
