new engine

just bought a new rebuilt engine (cougerII 2 liter) from importmotor.com to replace my stock 1.7. Does anyone have any experience/comments/advice?

Check the motor as best you can to be sure everything is the way it's supposed to be. Do a search on this board, the 914 Club and Shop Talk Forums to read about some peoples' experiences with Import Motor.

I bought an engine from I.M. about a year ago. I was home when it was delivered...
It was the WRONG engine!!! Wrong cam, wrong lifters, not what I ordered - & it had NO serial#. They took it back.

Couple days later they delivered the config. I had ordered.
So, inspect the engine AND the paperwork very carefully.
