weird elec. stuff

Hey all
I'm having a little problem with my turnsignals. The left signal works fine, no problem, but right signal is all screwy. When I switch it on, the signal doesn't work at all then the engine starts missing pretty bad, when I switch it off the engine is fine. Also, there is an occasional slight buzz coming from behind the dash when I switch it on. Is my switch busted or is it something more serious. TIA....jeremy

I've had this happen to both our 914s and in each case it was poor electrical connections at the front combo bulb. I would recommend pulling the bulbs and cleaning the sockets, put in new bulbs if they are corroded, then pull the spade connectors and clean them and the lugs.

Hey john, what do you mean by front combo bulb? Is that the signal bulb in the front(or back) or is it behind the dash?

The combo bulb is the one with two contacts. I have seen some so bad they would barely come out of the socket and the socket is some sort of German cast pot metal that oxidizes really bad.
