V8 mounting questions/ideas
Thanks for the answers to my other questions. Here is one more:
Next up on my V8 project is getting rid of the hokey mount set up for the V8. THe P.O. made a mess of it and I am going to weld up somthing better. I see that I have rubber mounts on the ends of the crossbar and rubber Chevy mounts as well. If I went to solid mounts at the motor would the rubber at the ends of the bar be enough to cut down on vibration? I figure less movement is better. Thoughts? Alex |

Hi Alex
Usually stock Chevy motor mounts are used on the crossbar and the ends are bolted solid to the car. Desert Hybrids makes some nice motor mount bars and he's making some more right now. |

I ues a desert hybrids motor mount bar and 911 solid motor mounts that mount the bar to the frame. Stock chevy mounts on the block. No need to use rubber twice.

www.reddawgracing.com has a clean, pre-made engine/tranny harness that bolts up to the stock mounts.
