V8 Chassis stiffening questions
I am plugging away on my v8 teener and want to add a bit of renforcement to the tub. The question is which stiffening kit is best. I see a very cool in the cabin kit that looks easy to install and well made. Then there is the more traditional kit that fits around the fenderwells and such. Which kit is better or should one use both? Also how does one use a 914 tach with a V8?
Thanks Alex |

Desert Hybrids sells a very nice chassis and trailing arm stiffening kit . I've converted several tachs for V8s. It involves changing a capacitor or resistor depending on whether you have the older or newer style tach.

You are up in Venice, NHR does the tach conversion and if you check out 914club.com look in the resouces section and look up Engman, he makes the inside kit for stiffening the chassis. I will be running both on mine after installing the inner kit on Joe Buckles car. I got my fender well kit and trailing arm kits from Desert hybrids, great parts.
Guy, are you going to make it out for the WCC? I would love to see your car in person. I have been following your progress thread on the new one you are doing, very nice work.

Hey Scott. I won't make it to the WCC this year. Would like to make it out sometime. Maybe next year, then I can see your V8 which will be an experienced road warrior by then
