Did you buy parts from Fred Vollmerhausen?

Have you purchased parts from Fred Vollmerhausen (vollme) lately? I am looking for a phone number for him--he is not responding to emails, but he did cash the check?? I see he has been a member for years, and was very friendly during the purchasing stage. Any help in this area would be helpful.
Thank you,

I've bought from him several times, he's a great guy... I don't have his number. I know he travels some for his work... sometimes he takes a little bit, don't fret, he didn't forget about you, I'm sure.

I've bought from him before as well. Thoroughly upright guy.

I agree. Two transactions, no errors. Give a little longer I guess. He was quite prompt when I dealt with him, so maybe there is something demanding his attention, or I think he would respond.

I have bought a few things from Fred. Good guy. As I recall he had to take a day off of work to get all his orders out. I'm sure he is busy and will do you right.

For what it's worth, when I lived in Ohio (only about 45-50 minutes from where Fred is in Michigan) I had a few experiences with sending mail to California that were just ridiculous.

In one case I sent two letters on the same day. One arrived in 3 days, the other took 3 weeks. The letters were to two different friends at the same college in LA, the mailboxes were three feet from each other in the college's mail room.

In another case I sent a cashier's check for payment for a 924S speedometer to Cali with delivery confirmation and priority mail. It took 3.5 weeks from mailing (and yes, the guy on the other end confirmed that it had been postmarked on the date I mailed it).

So that's another thing that could be happening, and if he's on business and not checking E-mails it would be compounded.

Yeah that sounds about right. Years ago I sent a bank check via registered mail to a guy for some property, he lived in Cupertino, about 15 miles south. He eventually called and I had to go down and explain what I did and show him my registered mail recept. Only then did he believe me. He then told me I should sue the U.S. Postal Service! It was probably a week and a half over due.

Another good reason to use FedEx....

Don't know how many of you realilse that when you send something priority mail it actualy flys on the FedEx planes...

The difference in service comes in the delivery stage..The postal carriers day is over when the clock tells them their 8 hours are up. If they haven't delivered your package it will just have to wait to tomorrow.
Fedex's shift is over when the last package is delivered...

I live about 10 minutes from Fred. He's been out - and in a bit of a rough spot right now.

I have ways to get a hold of him - if you need assistance, let me know... I will see what I can do.

Fred is one of the best 914 guys out there. Straight up good person. If something is amiss, it's purely out of accident - trust me.

Thanks,
Tom

I met Fred at the Hershey Swap Meet a couple of years ago and he is very personable and honest. Very nice guy to deal with. As the others have said, he will do what he can, when he can.

I guess there's a point there somewhere. Comparing snail mail and email. I know that email to CA can be tough.
