can't get drop link back on

I used a C clamp to get the one end on, but the other end is giving me problems. the clamp is big enough but there just isn't room. The only I can think to do is take off the heat exchanger or maybe the rotor but I wanted to check with you guys first to see if there is an easier way. Any ideas?
TIA
jeremy

Those things can be a real PITA. Looks like you have new bushings (?). You should dab a little moly grease on the surfaces. Then, see if you can big a BFS (big screwdriver) or small prybar in there somehow to get leverage. It does take some force but it should pop on eventually. The grease will help a little.

I used large channel lock pliers. Popped right on.

I have used a long bar-type clamp in the past, but if I have to do it again I will invest in one of the "squeeze" clamps. Those are like bar clamps, but the tightening mechanism is a ratcheting handle that you squeeze, rather than a screw you turn. It lets you control the orientation and position of the clamp so it doesn't slip off the link, which is a problem I had quite a bit of.

I put one wheel on the ground, and the other up in the air. I remove that one road wheel. I use my floor jack to move the trailing arm of the wheel that is in the air upward to where the ball more or less lines up with the socket in the drop-link.
