Qs
I finally got *SOME* money, so i'm wondering:
*Pertronix, The Crane Fireball XR3000 or mallory? Heard mallory makes a too hot of a spark from somebody. *Pushrod tube seals, i think i can change them with the engine in, but could i use a knife to cut the old ones out? All i would need to see is just a little bit of the top of the tube and thats all i would need to install the new ones. b

Hey! Nice Rack! "Celette"

I'm not the type IV expert here, but I think you'll need to remove the rocker assemblies and the air guides under the cylinders by the tubes. Then you should be able to remove the tubes and replace the seals.

Britt....its simple to change the pushrod tubes with the engine in the car.
1. Pull the valve covers. 2. Pull all the rockers. 3. Pull the pushrods NOTE: You will not be able to get one of the pushrods out. It will hit the suspension console. 4. Pull the pushrod tubes. NOTE: Same thing. One tube will hit the suspension console. 5. Change the seals on the one tube you can't remove. Reassembly is the reverse of disassembly. Make sure that you adjust the valves after you reinstall the rockers.

The seals are rubber, so they stretch. Just pry 'em off, and put the new ones on.

who told you the mallory BS? shoot them :P
how can a dizzy affect spark 'hotness'.... the coil and CDI boxes do that.... if you got the dough, go with the mallory. Timing doesnt bounce all over the place like a bosch dizzy.... you need the grey grey springs and set your advance curve kit.... or have raby do it. next i like the pertronix/compufire... the crane can be a PITA to setup..... If you're using the stock FI then forget the Mallory distributor, since it doesn't have the fuel injection trigger points that your stock dizzy has.

True for D-jet, but the 1.8's L-jet "should" work fine with the Mallory.
