I just discoverd that my Boyds wheels will not fit on my '74 914. The center hole in the wheel is too small. It appears that it needs a spacer about 3/8" or 1/2" to clear. Will this adversely effect the handling? Will I need to put spacers on the rear wheels to balance the suspension properly? Or should I have tha back of the wheels machined out to clear the hub? Thanks, Scott

Just have the centering ring on the brake hub machined off. Since you are not using factory alloys it is of no use anyway. The tapered seats of the lugs will center the wheel.
