The more we dig, the more we find....
Pressed out the trailing arm pivot axles, and lo and behold on both sides there was significant (very) corrosion where the bushing bears against the axle. It had been suggested to me that these were made of titanium but they appear to me to be of tubular steel. Has anyone ever repaired one of these? Swing arms are relatively cheap. Find some used ones...there are a lot in junk yards down here in So Cal...you can either find someone to pick up a set in a pick a part, or try Parts heaven in the Bay Area.
