mistery fuel leak
after sitting idle for some time my '74 914 leaked a cup or more from the fuel pump area when first started. buy the time I jacked the car up to investigate all was well, not a drop to be found. driving and checking, again not a drop to be found. can anyone offer any explanation? Thanks

How much fuel was in the tank?
It maybe the pump itself leaking not the tank. Is it a stock pump or aftermarket? What shape are the hoses in?

Who cares what shape the hoses are in? Replace 'em anyway. Chances are pretty decent this will fix the leak, and if it doesn't they probably needed it anyway...
