surging at idle,why?

My 73 2 litre is in nice shape and running consistently well,I think, its not registered yet.The CSV fuel line is disconnected and plugged. When I start her up the idle is a bit uneven, surging by around a 100 rpm. When the car is fully warmed up the surging is minimal.Any one have an idea as to what may be the cause? The idle speed is 900 to 1000 rpm when warm.

You have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check and or replace all vacuum hoses as well as the intake runner boots and injector seals.

Intake runners are the pipes from the manifold to the heads. The runner boots are the big fat hoses that connect the runners to the manifold.

The phenolic blocks between the runners and the heads may also be leaking.
