No spark
I have converted my 75 1.8 to a carb. I now have no spark. I have power to the coil but no spark at the plugs. I have not changd anything with the distributor and I had spark before the conversion. Do I need to connect another wire that was lost when I removed the fuel injection?

Re-check the coil connections. The black/red (thicker) wire goes on the (+) terminal, while the green wire and the black/purple (thinner) wires go on the (-) terminal.
Do you have spark at the fat cable from the middle of the coil? Try again with the black/purple wire disconnected. If the tach is fried or the wiring is mis-connected, that can cause a no-spark. ("A carb". I hope that's a typo--the single carb setup is about the worst possible one on our engines. If you must carb, go duals!!) --DD

I found the cause of the lack of spark. The fuel pump was sharing the same circuit as the coil and was robbing the current.
