inexpensive way to measure CCs
I need to put something together to measure the cc's of my heads, and I'm wondering what you guys have put together that works.

Cut a piece of plexiglass to fit in the register where the cylinder fits. Cut a hole in it. Get yourself a "graduated cylinder" from a science-type supply house. Fill the cylinder with a known amount of water (that's what the "graduations" on the cylinder are for), pour carefully into the hole in the plexi. Carefully work the bubbles out from under the plexi, and stop when the water is touching all of the plexi. Check how much water is left in the cylinder. The difference is how much volume in the chamber.
Repeat several times, average the numbers to help minimize measurement error. A difference of 1CC is actually a fair bit in this context. --DD

Don't pour with the graduated cylinder. Get a pipet (its basically a precision eyedropper) and use that to squirt water from the graduated cylinder into the plexiglass.

Oh, better idea!! Yes, a pipette will be more precise!
Some people use brake fluid because it will give you less of a "crown" because it doesn't have the same surface tension characteristics as water, but cleans off with water. --DD

I searched for syringe and plate on your site with no luck. Looked under heads and tools also. Where should I look?
