Post Help with FI problem 75, 1.8 liter

I have a 914 that i am trying to bring back to life. It is a 1975 1.8 fuel injection. The car is stock and has been sitting for 15 years.
I have cleaned the tank, fuel pump, replaced the fuel filter and a few rotted fuel hoses. I gave it a tune up, new plugs distibutor cap, points, distibutor button. I have removed the injectors and tried to clean them as much as i could and replaced the crimped hoses.
I got to the point where i have good gas pressure getting to the injectors and i have voltage getting to them also but they do not spit any gas when i crank the motor.. I am not sure if the injectors are still clogged or whaever should give them a pulse or signal is bad. I was doing some reading and read about a switch inside the distributor that is supposed to send a start signal to the injectors. please help

The switch for the fuel pump is actually the air flow meter flap...you apparently can reach inside of the AFM and open the flap to fire the injectors.

The injectors should fire when you crank the engine over also. Here is a link which you can print off so you can trouble shoot a little easier. I just got my 1.8 going but I do know all the sensors need to be hooked to the FI harness to feedback to the ECU.

Good Luck!

Thanks guys for the tips, I had the chance to spend a few minutes working on the 914 and i have checked the air flow meter switch and it does in fact activate the pump and i feel the fuel pressure building instantly in the lines when i move the flap. But when i move the flap and crank the motor, i still have no fuel squirting out of the injectors. i have one injector outside the manifold for that purpose. To my understanding it is nessecary to have all vacum connections and hoses in place and making a secure conection.
This is not the case here. Some of the hosees are cracked and some of them are hanging loose being too short to make to the there destination. Do I have to have all this done before i can have fuel squirting out of the injectors???. I am not trying to get the motor to run at this point but i am trying to save the injection system. I have a set of dual carbs but i will hate to have to install it. I rather keep it stock.
What should be my next step guys? Fix all the tubes or start trouble shooting electrical connections and wires? or both.(i swapped brains but made no difference) that is the only fuel injection system spare part that i own.
Thanks again for all the help...

The system won't work correctly without all of the bits hooked up and vacuum leaks eliminated. But the injectors should operate. You should be getting fuel, just the wrong amount.

The L-jet (1.8) injectors are powered at all times. The ECU supplies a ground to open them up, or no connection to shut them.

The ECU gets its timing information from the same place the tach does--from the points connection to the coil. There should be an extra white (I think) wire going to the same connector where the green points wire goes, and the black/purple tach wire goes. The ECU will never tell the injectors to open without this connectd.
