Be careful - We lost another 914 this weekend!

Dr.Evil aka Mike95125 destroyed his 914/6 coversion this weekend. He and his passenger lived, but his passenger will be a damaged for a while.

Cautionary tail! Be careful driving out there!

holy crap, lucky his passenger survived

still a lot of good stuff to strip off it though...that is terrible that is the first thing I think after the people are sorted out I know, but that is the second thing I always think when I see a 914 all folded up like that.

let me guess...skid into a phone pole? Thank goodness for the safety of this car. It's still a strong critter.

believe it or not, Karmann vehicles are pretty solid in wrecks. In 1979, according to my father's insurance cronies, the safest small car was the super beetle. I have seen a lot of wrecked bugs, 914's and 911's, all pretty solid. 911 is a freakin' tank and will sacrifice itself to save the driver.

In case you ever wreck your teener or 911, and think you might want to salvage it, try and get the engine lid and front trunk open BEFORE the police and fire crew gets there.

The fire crew will want to check your gas tank. They will go through your hood instead of opening it. That is why Mike's hood is all jacked.

At the time it might not be important to you. But, it might.

Link isn't working but I'll be careful! I know all too well how quickly things can "go south" with cars.

Another guy lost his 914 to a carb fire. I went out yesterday and bought a fire extinguisher...
