gauge cluster backlights

well i am going to convert to LEDs and i was wondering how many do i need for just the backlights? when i looked i only partially took off the cluster and i think i saw 4 or 5 (one for the warning/fuel guage on the left, two for the tach, and one or two for the speedo). I just need to know how many to get before i order.

In stock form, there is one light per gauge for illumination. There are others that are warning lights, but they do not illuminate the whole gauge. You will likely need more LEDs than incandescent bulbs, as they are much more directional and will light up one spot brightly rather than a large area dimly.

Depending on your gauges you will need 7-9 bulbs for the lighting

thanks guys i really appreciate it. i got a set of white LEDs and they look pretty great. i can't use my dimmer anymore but i don't mind the LEDs are a perfect level of brightness anyway.
