Bosch 050 Distributor - Is this used on FI Engines
I just picked up a parts car and I am selling many of the parts on eBay - including the fuel injection system.
The car is a 1974 with a 1.8 FI Engine. I noticed that it has a Bosch 050 Distributor with no vacuum advance and I was wondering if this is a common replacement. I was going to sell the FI as a complete setup but I don't want to include an 050 distributor if that is not a proper distributor to be using. The full part number is 9 230 080 050 Ind Brasilera 090 and has the Bosch symbol ((B)). Any advice would be appreciated.......Vern |

This has to work on some fuel injected engines because this came on a 1.8 with furl injection and the engine ran.
I beleive it is just the D-Jet 1.7 & 2.0 that had trigger points in the distributor. |

Tidy, you are correct--the 1.8's L-jetronic EFI did not use the "trigger points" in the base of the distributor. The 050 is a functional replacement, though the advance curve is different from the stock distributor's. And it does not have vacuum advance or retard--the original one would have had at least vacuum retard, and may have had vacuum advance as well.
