You might have a little trouble finding space to put the radiators to cool the 996 engine though. I guess you can set it up similar to the V8-conversions.
It certainly doesn't hurt to dream about more horsepower...

I have a new theroy about water cooling. You can get a custom radiator made that fits below the bonnet lid. Then route your hoses, put in an over flow tank (with a check valve) and then add two fans that blows are into the compartment. It should have enough volume to cool a big engine. The only thing I'm not sure of is the ever questionable clearance issue.

"A small hole in the case"... Uhhh, caused by what, exactly? One of the rods exiting the case at a high rate of speed, perhaps?

DSP, I suggest sticking to a 993 motor or smaller. That's more power than you can effectively use in a 914 anyway--300+ HP with oodles of torque is more than enough to convert your tires into smoke. (Ask me how I know--WHEEE!!!) The extra hassles won't be worth it.

newestone, that car looks like it has stock fenders. Which would limit it to 205, maybe 225 (if the fenders have been carefully modified) tires. Which is laughably inadequate for a 400 HP 993TT motor. I know for a fact that 225s are not enough for a 993 non-turbo motor (see the above paragraph)--they'd just be ridiculous for the twin turbo...

I'd also be very worried about brakes in that thing. Unless there are five-lugs hiding behind those baby-moon hubcaps, that thing has stock or near-stock brakes. Nowhere near enough for 400+ HP and a few hundred extra pounds.

Germain:

Something like this.
I have 2 fans (2 speed) in my car, always run cold.
