Bent A arm...how bad...need fixing?
Hey guys, I am planning on upgrading my suspension and while under the car I have found that part of my A arm is bent (probably where the PO towed the car from)...will this need to be replaced? And I do have a 71 parts car that I think the A arm is good on. Is this a direct swap item?
Pics below... Thanks for the help. Tony |

The arm does not look too bad, but you might want to replace it anyway.
Of course, then it is time to replace the bushings and consider bigger torsion bars, new shocks, brake ducts, ball joints, sway bars, 5 lug conversion etc. Have we spent enough money yet??? ![]()

Well, I am planning on doing busings and torsion bars anyway...going to stay 4lug for now though
![]() I guess the real question is: can I just swap the A arm from the 71 parts car? Thanks, Tony |

All 914 A arms are the same. Look for the sway bar bracket if needed. (You probaly want a sway bar). 911 arms are the same in dimention, but the torsion bars are not interchangeable between the two. The stock 914 torsion bar is a tad under 18mm.
The stock 911 bar is 19mm, but again, the splines are different |
