Engine tin ?
When we installed my 2.0 after the rebuild I noticed a few holes in the tin. How important is it to have them covered. Does it affect the performance at all. Probably a dumb ? but I'm still a little new to all this. Thanks for all the input guy's you've been a great help!

I intend to plug the holes in mine with more care than the factory did. I have seen some cars with missing tin or bad seals that seem to fare OK, but why take a chance?

The holes generally don't affect the performance of the engine. They do, however, affect the cooling. Usually by fairly little, but some of the holes have a much greater effect. (E.g., the timing hole in the top of the fan shroud.) It's a good idea to close up all of the holes that you possibly can--it can't really hurt anything (unless you use duct tape and it gets sucked in and clogs something) and it could help your engine last a little bit longer.
