Who makes these wheels

I'm trying to find replacement center caps for these wheels. There are no markings that I can find except 15x5.5J on the backside. I'm pretty sure the PO painted the spokes gold. Inside the center cap reads:
REORDER FROM
LILLEGARD INT'L INC.
8218 SALT LAKE AVE
CUDAHY, CA 90201
SET OF 4--$8.00

I've seen those before, but it was a long time ago. The caps and center emblems were sold separately by a VW aftermarket company years ago, and what you have is one-offs created by a previous owner.

Which part needs replacing... the cap or the center emblem?

I had those exact same wheels on my old 914. And I searched high and low for the center caps. I ended up making my own.

Genrex- I lost the 1 cap and emblem. I'm willing to replace all 4 so they match if I can find something that fits. Thanks.

You certainly have a rare center cap and emblem. Finding either of those will be a challenge. I looked at the large online VW aftermarket suppliers, and nobody has those center caps or emblems. The standard replacement seems to be the EMPI cog-style black plastic center cap for 8-spoke wheels, with the "blank" center. They don't have the cache' of your center caps, but they are very common and easily replaceable. They cost about $6 - $10 each, and they're probably in stock at a local VW air-cooled aftermarket retailer. The blank center will accept a variety of emblems... Porsche, VW, Empi, etc.

Your best bet for finding a matching center cap (or a matching emblem/logo) may be the classified ads of the samba. Today's ads are kinda slim...

Sorry I haven't been much help...

Voila, the standard replacement. There is some variation in the center diameter from manufacturer to manufacturer, so it's best to measure before purchasing, to ensure proper fitment.
