Light switch replacement
I am sorting a few issues out with my 1975, 2.0 and need to replace the light switch which is listed as no longer available. What would my options be. It seems very similar in function to the one on my 930. Would that be interchangeable or I guess if it was, it is no longer available as well?
Has anyone tackled this one before. Thanks Richard

Light witch
Hi. Thanks for the interest. It's the headlight switch. It looks like I will just get a universal one from the local parts shop if I can't track a proper replacement.
Cheers Richard

If you look at the electrical diagram you can figure what colored wires do what and as you said there are replacements that are universal. The HARD ONE to replace is the flasher switch since the turn signals run through it and there are several pairs of wires for each corner of the car. You could also check VW parts places since many 411 parts are the same as a 914.

Must be 100s of switches at Porsche wrecking/recycling yards. People are also parting cars all the time. Just put out a WTB in pelican and 914 World, and you will get responses.

Yes, thanks to all for the help. Mike has sent me some 2nds which should do the trick. That Wankel project looks lethal. Amazing what you guys do to 914's. Down here we spend all our time keeping them original.
